• Provide and maintain the Service through our Supabase backend infrastructure
• Authenticate your account using Google OAuth and personalize your experience
• Store and organize your product data, images, and ratings in secure cloud storage
• Calculate aggregate ratings and rankings for products across categories
• Enable product discovery through barcode scanning and search functionality

• Community Features: Product names, brands, images, ratings, and comments you submit become part of our community database for other users to discover and rate

• Service Providers: Trusted third-party services including Supabase (data storage and authentication), Google (OAuth authentication), and cloud storage providers

5. User-Generated Content

When you add products to our database, the following information becomes publicly available to other users:

• Product names, brands, and categories
• Product images (front and ingredients label photos you upload)
• Ingredient lists and product tags
• Your ratings and review comments
• Product scan records (anonymized)

Your personal identifying information (name, email, Google profile) is not displayed publicly with your contributions.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices through Supabase's secure PostgreSQL infrastructure with Row Level Security (RLS) policies. Product images are stored in secure cloud storage with controlled access.

7. Camera and Photo Access

Our app requires camera and photo library access for core functionality:

• Camera: To scan product barcodes and take photos of products and ingredient labels
• Photo Library: To select existing product images from your device
• Image Processing: Photos are compressed and optimized before upload to reduce data usage

We only access photos you explicitly select and do not scan or access other photos in your library.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information stored in our Supabase database
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Delete your account and associated personal data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Object to certain uses of your information
• Request removal of specific product contributions you've made

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. You may delete your account at any time, which will remove your personal information from our systems. Product information and ratings you've contributed may remain in an anonymized form to maintain the integrity of our community database and rankings.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
