By downloading, installing, or using the Checkout | Grocery Rankings mobile application (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Astretto LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Checkout | Grocery Rankings is a community-driven platform that allows users to:

• Scan product barcodes using device camera
• Add new products to our community database with photos and information
• Rate products on a scale of 0-10 with optional comments
• Search and discover products by categories, ratings, and tags
• View community ratings and rankings for products
• Categorize products using GS1 Global Product Classification standards

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

• Sign in with a valid Google account
• Be at least 13 years of age
• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. User Conduct and Content

4.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or inaccurate product information
• Upload inappropriate, offensive, or copyrighted images
• Submit fake ratings or manipulate product rankings

4.2 User-Generated Content

When you add products, ratings, or other content to the Service:

• You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content
• You represent that you have the right to share the content
• You acknowledge that your contributions become part of our community database
• You agree that product information and ratings may remain on the platform even if you delete your account

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that:

• You have read and understood our Privacy Policy
• Product information you submit becomes publicly available
• Your ratings and comments are visible to other users
• We use Supabase for secure data storage and processing
• Camera and photo access are required for core functionality

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Astretto LLC and are protected by intellectual property laws. You acknowledge that:

• We own all rights to the Service's design, code, and functionality
• GS1 Global Product Classification standards are used under license
• You retain ownership of original content you submit
• Product information may incorporate publicly available data
• Our trademarks and logos may not be used without permission

7. Community Guidelines

To maintain a helpful and trustworthy community:

• Be Accurate: Provide truthful product information and honest ratings
• Be Respectful: Keep comments constructive and appropriate
• Be Original: Only upload photos you have the right to share
• Be Helpful: Add detailed ingredient lists and product tags
• Be Fair: Don't manipulate ratings or spam the system

8. Content Moderation

We reserve the right to:

• Review and moderate user-submitted content
• Remove inappropriate or inaccurate content
• Merge duplicate product entries
• Verify product information accuracy
• Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We specifically disclaim:

• Accuracy of user-submitted product information
• Completeness of ingredient lists or nutritional data
• Availability of specific products in stores
• Suitability of products for specific dietary needs or allergies
• Continuous availability of the Service

Always verify product information and ingredients independently, especially for allergies or dietary restrictions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Astretto LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Astretto LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

You may also delete your account at any time through the app settings.
